The Beautification Awards – Hosted by Mayor James W. Ford, The City Council of Country Club Hills, The Environmental Commission & The Beautification Awards Committee.
The Beautification Awards Program is an annual initiative that encourages community pride and recognizes outstanding efforts in maintaining the beauty of our city. Every May and June, we invite residents to participate as volunteer judges through notices in water bills, announcements at City Council meetings, and outreach by Aldermen. A training session is held for all judges, where they receive folders detailing 68 designated areas in the city. Each folder covers approximately two blocks of homes for evaluation. Judges conduct an initial review of their assigned areas and then revisit to select five finalists. Judging takes place from June 15th to August 1st, after which the Commission Coordinator’s office sends notification letters to the winners. Winners can then choose how they would like their awards to be prepared. The program concludes with an award ceremony for judges and winners, typically held on the first Saturday in October.
