TRAFFIC STOP: While on patrol in the area of 183rd and Cicero Ave, an officer observed a vehicle perform a U turn in attempts to avoid making contact with the officer. The officer was able to locate the vehicle and perform a check of the vehicle’s registration, which revealed that the registration was suspended. Upon initiating a stop on the vehicle, the driver, identified as Christopher Brant (37) of Matteson, was unable to provide proof of valid insurance. He was cited for both infractions and was provided with a notice to appear in court.

RECOVERED VEHICLE/WARRANT SERVICE: While on patrol in the area of Walmart, 4005 W 168th Pl, officers were alerted to a vehicle in the parking lot that was possibly stolen. Upon checking the area, officers located the vehicle and confirmed that it was a vehicle reported stolen. Officers subsequently had contact with the driver, identified as Robin Buchmeier (46) of Park Forest, who advised she borrowed the car from a friend. A check of Buchmeier through law enforcement systems revealed that she had an active arrest warrant out of Kane County. She was arrested without incident and later transferred to Kane County. The stolen vehicle was recovered, and the registered owner was contacted about the recovery.

CARJACKING: Officers were dispatched to Marcus Theaters, 4201 W 167th St, regarding a report of an armed carjacking. Prior to arrival, the carjacked vehicle crashed while attempting to flee the scene, and the male offender fled on foot. Officers arrived on scene and immediately secured the area. With the area secured, an assisting Markham K-9 and Oak Forest officers along with other CC Hills officers were able to locate and apprehend the suspect, a male determined to be a juvenile, in Oak Forest without incident. The firearm used was also recovered. He was charged as an adult, and later transferred to juvenile detention in Chicago.

DUI: While on patrol in the area of Sweetz Bar and Grill, 4167 W 183rd St, an officer observed a disturbance in the parking lot upon the business closing. It was observed that the driver of a Jeep was playing loud music with multiple subjects gathering around the vehicle to dance. The driver, identified as Jamar Everett (37) of Calumet City, showed signs of alcohol impairment and was subsequently arrested for DUI, and was cited for playing the loud music from his vehicle.
