Chief Malcolm J. White, Chief of Police, City of Country Club Hills

With over 30 years of law enforcement experience, Chief Malcolm J. White has built a career defined by leadership, integrity, and a deep commitment to public safety. Beginning his journey in January 1994 after graduating from the Chicago Police Academy, Chief White first served with the City of Harvey Police Department, where he quickly rose to the rank of detective within just two and a half years. Assigned to the Special Operations Unit, he worked alongside the Illinois State Police and Cook County Sheriff’s Police Department on high-stakes undercover operations, contributing to over 100 successful search warrants within an 18-month period.

In 1998, Chief White brought his expertise to the Hazel Crest Police Department, where he earned multiple state certifications, including Field Training Officer, Evidence Technician, and Firearms Instructor. His leadership skills were quickly recognized, and from 2000 to 2005, he served as the Union President of Teamster’s Local 726. His continued dedication to advancing the department led to his promotion to Deputy Chief of Police in 2005, overseeing the Support Services Division. By 2007, he was appointed Senior Deputy Chief of Police, leading the Patrol Division until his retirement in 2018.

After retiring from Hazel Crest, Chief White stepped into a new leadership role as Chief of Police for the Sauk Village Police Department, where he dedicated himself to enhancing community policing initiatives, strengthening departmental operations, and improving the overall quality of life for residents.

Now, as the newly sworn-in Chief of Police for the City of Country Club Hills, Chief White brings decades of experience, a progressive vision for modern policing, and a steadfast commitment to the safety and well-being of the community. He is eager to foster stronger relationships between law enforcement and residents, implement innovative policing strategies, and uphold the high standards of service that the City of Country Club Hills deserves.

A graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command, Chief White also holds a Master’s degree in Public Safety Administration from Calumet College of St. Joseph in Whiting, Indiana. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he and his wife Lisa share a blended family of eight children and reside in the south suburbs of Chicago.

With a deep respect for the experience and dedication of the officers he leads, Chief White remains focused on collaboration, transparency, and continued progress for the City of Country Club Hills Police Department and the community it serves.
