Operation “Refill Red”, Toys for Tots a success!

Country Club Hills Police Department closes out the 2015 USMCR “Toys 4 Tots” Campaign

Country Club Hills, IL: Named Operation “Refill Red”; Thursday 17 December 2015, volunteers from the Country Club Hills Police Department met and prepared this year’s contribution to the Marine Corps Reserves “Toys for Tots” Foundation. This year has by far exceeded all of our expectations and it could have not been completed without the help of our residents, local, and neighboring businesses.

This is the fourth year this program has been in existence, with this year having volunteers from Country Club Hills, Lansing and Flossmoor PD’s all joining the Oak Forest Police Department for such a great cause. These agencies also received donations from their respective communities which helped us reach our combined total of over 4200 toys! Shortly after 11:00 A.M. all four departments departed the City of Oak Forest in a convoy and delivered the toys to 2D Battalion 24th Marines on Foster Ave. in Chicago.

We want to thank each and every one of you who has participated in this program by either dropping off toys at the various locations throughout the area or placing drop boxes within their businesses.

At an average of 2 toys per child, these donations would touch nearly 1800 children who otherwise may not receive any toys at all for Christmas. We are truly grateful for the generosity of our community.

If you have any questions or would like more information about the Marines “Toys for Tots” Foundation, future events, or how you can participate in next year’s campaign, please contact Sgt. Avila or Sgt. Wilson at (708)798-3191. We hope that everyone enjoyed a wonderful holiday season and would like to say thank you all!
